2 ways:
1. force crashing, the exploit of homing/stationing in an enemy home sector (got 1 char stuck this way)
2. getting the "spinning" bug, you die, you log off (got another stuck this way).
Either way when you log back on, you're stuck.

Are your characters still stuck?

yes, Blaster2 and <Blaster> are still stuck
on a sidenote, another way you could get stuck (don't think you can do this anymore), you spacecd about 2million or so meters in early 3.2.x, then you logged off, you log back on now, your char gets d/c ed when you log on.
Banias is stuck that way
so 3 chars stuck :/

Ok, I guess the fix to prevent one from entering an enemy's station through that exploit isn't a good fix.

well it is... but... maybe if you're told to be in a station in an enemy home sector, maybe boot you back to 7/13/11?

or boot you to dock in 8 :P

maybe if you're without a ship or station boot you back to your home sector (I mean 1, 2, 3 not like station you're homed).

Well, I fixed the problem of being stuck. What happened was that you were supposed to be sent back to your home sector but that code wasn't written and there was just a print saying that it needs to be written. ;)
So I wrote it and it should solve your problems when we release it. It will require a server restart though. We may do that today.
