Capship Insurance Mission
This may be a feature, not a flaw:
You need not wait till your ship is destroyed to take the mission.
It is described as a manufacturing mission, and as the original Trident mission does not display the recipe until you take it, I wanted to see what, if anything, would be needed to rebuild. Adequate station storage and money seem to be all you need.
Since M7 is the only place to keep them, and they are 15,000cu ea to store (yes, owning even 1 means paying station rental), it is only possible to have 3 tridents at once. Until there are other places to dock them, there is no real advantage except to have one or two extra replacements ready without needing to wait 1 week for the Insurance mission to post again, and you'd be paying weekly for 40 or 50 kcu storage. Of course, it is also nice to have a variety of colors available, as your replacement will be the color of either the last ship you bought or the ship you are in when you complete the mission (I'm not sure as it was one and the same).
As I recall there was a bounty for a PINK trident ;)

Questions: So once you get one trident you can have several at a time? How does the key system work thus far; can you loan tridents? What is the increase, if you know it, of the insurance mission cost?
Side note and suggestion: Why is the storage limit 50k in M-7? Compared to other stations, that one is _huge_. If/when other capships are introduced, they're going to need even more storage.

only the builder can fly it, as far as I know, but then... I never tried giving an owner key...
the keychain looks just like a station keychain. I assumed owners could just give out more owner and user keys, and we all know how it worked with the stations...
[confirmed: an owner key does not let you fly it, just lets you hand out boarding passes]
I don't know what the increase is, as the mission can only be taken once a week. I'll let you know in a few days.

Ok, the "Insurance Fraud" trident (perhaps it could live in infamy as the "UPK Conflict of Interest"?)
died at Nation War today. It has been over a week since I took the insurance mission that created it, and it is not posting again, so perhaps it was a fluke? Devs, did you do anything server-side to correct this? If not, I have an odd suggestion, that might make the masses happy:
Allow me to build 4 tridents, and transfer (for a "modest fee"of eleventy-million credits? :)) one to each Serco, Itani, UIT, and Grey, not with the accomplishment of building their own, just one-offs they have to keep alive. Maybe even disallow them docking at M7 again, so each team has to keep a pilot dedicated to it, and repair it manually? Just a crazy idea, but the community is ripe for further deployment of these ships, and knowing the head-start ORE had in pre-manufacturing before you dropped in the Type M mission, it may be weeks and months before another appears.
Of course, I would want the others who are seriously making attempts to build their own to weigh in on this...
Well, at least tell me if this is worth starting a suggestion thread.

Does eleventy-million == 110,000,000 ?
That's always been my calculation, similar to Bilbo Baggins celebrating his "eleventy-first" birthday at age 111 at the begining of TLoTR. However, "eleventy-million" was always a childhood representation of an unfathomably large sum, even if in vo terms, it is a pretty reasonable price.
Really this is a conversation for the suggestion forums. I've always hoped they could be built and sold, simply so that builders can build and buyers can buy. Give builders an advantage to owning their own manufactured ships, give buyers immediate gratification.

We believe we fixed the issue with the insurance mission last night. We didn't restart the server, but the mission is only in one sector, which has probably restarted itself by now. It should now require that you A) have constructed a trident in the past, and B) don't currently have a trident.
CD: The mission always had a "once in seven days" time requirement on it. So it'll vanish for a week after it is used.

It never reappeared since that one time. So much for amassing a wardrobe of color choices to fit my mood. Is it fair to assume that if your trident is destroyed after the one-week mark, the mission will be immediately available?
It looks to me like the mission is only available exactly once due to the ReplacedTridentTypeM accomplishment...
ouch! That was never my understanding of it, and I'm hoping that is NOT the way it was intended. The mission text said it can be used once a week per player, and that the cost would go up the more times a player loses the ship. I'm all game to do more "live fire" war games once the damage readout bug is addressed, but not if I've already spent my one and only replacement for the sake of a grand entrance to Nation War.
Based on Inc's post, it is clearly not intentional. I was just pointing it out because Inc thought the problem was fixed. It is possible I was looking at an old mission that isn't the one used in production.
As long as i understood Inc, you will not see the mission while you still have any trident, using or stored... so it will be a leap of faith to test mission...
And if I understand the game engine, after the 1st week freeze, once you lose your last trident it will re-appear.
