Server issue / no route?
Hi
I was having difficulty logging onto VO just now. I would do the password bit, but then it would be stuck at <connecting> for over 90 secs with no result.
Each time I would press [ESC], close the app, and restart the app; this happened for a short while.
Also the vendetta-online.com website was not responding (I couldn't access the forums).
It's as if the servers got involuntarily bounced?
I managed to login now, about 5 mins later.
anyone else experience the same issue? or was disconnected?

I'm not aware of any outages. But, at any given time, the internet is broken somewhere, and it may be that a router flapped somewhere in the path between you and us. This is not uncommon.
About half the active population on VO at that time were chatting about it, either in-game or from IRC after being disconnected; many re-logged back in.

Again, even the fact that half the people dropped is still not very meaningful. That can happen just from Level3 flapping at Mae East. Our ISP had no maintenance at that time, and no outages reported.
It is sometimes a difficult concept to impart to our users, that regardless of how carrier-grade our facilities, or diverse our network connectivity.. the greater internet is quite fragile, and we happen to be one of those few services that causes you to really notice that fact. Most other activities, like streaming video, are handled through "content delivery networks" which have streaming-servers co-located all over the place, along with fast re-convergence to prevent visual interruption. An MMO has no such luxury.
