Textures not being loaded correctly in OSX 10.5

This one may not be fixable due to the age and specific setup on my machine.

Finally updated to 10.5 over the weekend for my ancient G4 Mac (AGP graphics). (was necessary. Had been putting it off for over a year) Lua graphics are fine, as appear to be long range texture graphics (and some ships), but other textures are completely hosed for some reason. Most of the ships textures in the Buy tab of the Ship tab in stations have the same kind of data-coding appearance to them the anniversary edition of the Vulture had. At close range, most textures disappear entirely.

All my other games and graphics are fine. Vendetta is the only app to be affected by the update. I did notice however that the default OpenGL driver has changed within VO from before my update to now. This suggests perhaps that VO is dynamically allocating its OGL driver internally based on the OS environment, although that's only a guess at present.

If I could find the older OGL drivers for independent install, I've give that a try too.

Relevant data:

PowerMac G4 AGP Graphics (2Gb RAM, 2GHz CPU)
ATI Radeon 9000 Pro graphics card (most recent drivers available, although that still means last updated in 2005)
Resolution: 1400x900, Millions of colors

I love playing VO, but it's really hard to play when things wink out texturally like that. I could probably get used to it, but a new machine is sadly out of the question at this time.

Can you post a screenshot? I don't understand what you mean by saying the default OpenGL driver has changed within VO. If you open the VendettaOnline bundle and delete the config.ini and wgaf.cfg files (or just move them away) and rerun the game, does that fix the problem?

Sorry about that. Had to post them to a domain first.

Yeah, and tried the whole clean everything to no effect.

Thanks for the advise though.

Thanks. I think we may not be supporting the Radeon 9000 series anymore. You can try disabing shader support if it is enabled in the Video Options, and/or try enabing Rage128 hack. Also try lowering your texture quality.

Yep...that corrected it. Oddly, enough, it looks like it used to, and without the shaders, I have better fps. So overall a good thing.
