Messaging Bots
I was talking to iG4 (Starfreeze) on vendetta with the /msg command for a bit, and then I decided to test messaging bots. I messaged the bots a few times and then iG4 received the last message.
For some reason, messaging a bot will have the message forwareded to someone else. But when we had other people (including iG4 himself) message any bot, all messages were forwarded to iG4.
And since so many people messaged bots, that may be how the server crashed. I have no idea why the messages went specifically to iG4, maybe since he had the lowest score of all online players / newest character of all online players.

It can't be bot related. The bots don't change a thing to the game client; they just read the log file produced by the game, and in case they want to interact with the game they send keypresses to the game client.
The messaging stuff is handled server side. Errors in message routing got nothing to do with clients misbehaving.

Heh, it just hit me... Do you mean "bots" as in bountybot & stuff, or as in the NPC's? ;)
What? NPC's, sorry. Yeah.. uh, I think I would know how to take it if it was bot messaging, taking it as just another client. Hehe, for awhile, I didn't know you were talking about the other kind of bots either.
yup im stupid, i have no idea what you are talking about, so yeah i guess im out of this thread. laterz
