HUD freaks out when Cap ships explode
I meant to post this earlier: after the last update, any time I kill a queen, levi, or capship, my entire HUD freaks out like it is part of the explosion. The HUD pane rotates and spins like the window prison in Superman (II? III?). It only did it for a few seconds at first, but now it does it for 15-30 seconds before I regain control. I'm running the mac version on a MacBook Pro. Anyone else see this behavior?
Yeah, Someone else reported it last week. I have a fix for it that'll be in the next update. We were going to release the update last friday but something else wasn't working with the update so we didn't release it yet. Hopefully this week the update will be ready.
I'm getting this too. I've actually been trying to narrow this down to something today.
It only seems to happen when shaders are on.
64bit arch linux
amd 32000hd (catalyst 10.5)
edit: whoops too late

I've been getting this as well... doesn't seem to hurt much though.
It should be fixed as of the 1.8.130 update that went out last friday.
This is also happens when queens explode.
It happened today?
Yep... definitely not fixed.
I popped a few queens in the wee hours PST today, the HUD didn't freak out for me, but one other component of the bug I had noticed (and failed to mention previously) was that all cargo widgets lost their color for the duration of the HUD freakout. THAT still happens for the same amount of time even tho my HUD no longer spins around in 3D.
"my HUD no longer spins around in 3D."
Still happening for me... the direction I'm facing seems to affect it.

What OS(es) are you guys using?
OSX 10.5.5
Windows XP Media Center.
the cargo widgets are still acting up after the queen explodes,
HUD is fine tho.
Windows 7

I observe the same effect , os x 10. 6 . 4, Queens or capships in BS.
I can only describe it as water down a plughole. All the visible cargo swirls and vanishes to a single point. That is how big lumps of scrap from an exploding cappie vanish, it is as if that visual effect is being applied to cargo.
The duration is a few seconds to about 10 seconds, much the same as the larger bits of scrap take to vanish. After that all the objects get their textures back in the right place.
It has no real effect on gameplay, but it does look a bit odd.

Ok, tonight's update fixes the problems. Please let me know if the HUD problem is still present.
