Marshals

Marshals shouldn't still say if a player is logged in or not.
May 07, 2010 Aticephyr link
not a bug. move to suggestions.
May 07, 2010 Maalik link
oh. it's a bug. it should have been removed along with the APL for consistency.
May 07, 2010 Aticephyr link
if a player is hunting another player, it's good to know whether or not that player is online... and given that the information is only available from capital sectors (if you PM a marshal outside the sector it doesn't respond to you), it seems reasonable enough.

Atice, just because you happen to like a particular bug doesn't make it not a bug.
May 07, 2010 Aticephyr link
I'm saying it's not a clear cut bug. But I agree with you in principal ladron.
May 07, 2010 autopiloter link
Atice actively abuses the bounty system info passing it to 4357 inluding location. Hell, it is a bounty system not a VPR scanner.

*Shna* ping

And this should be fixed too.

since when is it a bug/exploit when bounty hunters work together? lol
May 07, 2010 autopiloter link
since when is channel 4357 public one for bounty hunters?

[Sat May 7 18:33:18 2010] [4357] <Atice> autopilot active in Nyrius B10
[Sat May 7 18:34:08 2010] [4357] <Atice> autopilot in Dau O6
[Sat May 7 18:34:26 2010] [4357] <Atice> Autopilot in Nyrius K14
[Sat May 7 18:35:42 2010] [4357] <Atice> autopilot in Nyrius O15
[Sat May 7 18:36:43 2010] [4357] <autopilot> stop abusing the bounty system

.. so please never ever implement suggested GetTargetBountyInfo() Lua command

Your logic just tripped over its own shoelaces and fell flat on its face. Here's an ice pack; it should help with the bruising.

There is no bounty-hunter channel, but those interested in hunting pirates tend to monitor 4357. If you insisted I could report to 100... but there's too much clutter on that channel.

Also, I report all pirates regardless (and have plugins to do so). GetTargetBountyInfo() wouldn't affect my reporting in any way, shape, or form.
May 08, 2010 autopiloter link
Your abusive logic is faulty. Bounty system was meant nothing like a VPR tool so get your ass out of that sector, do your work and find us you lazy VPR. Piping bounty system data to your channel is cheap even on you.
May 08, 2010 Aticephyr link
If I recall, a bounty hunter saw the posts and moved to dispatch you. As such, the bounty system worked as intended. Just because I broadcasted your location publicly and not via group chat does not change the fact that the bounty system worked as it was intended.

And I was in-sector because I was giving a friend a stockpile of goods. Figured I'd delegate :).

Why are some players given privileged information on others? Seems imbalanced unless there was a like counter-bounty system with bounty hunter locations.
May 08, 2010 diqrtvpe link
I agree with OP. Marshals should tell you where a rat was last spotted, and possibly how long ago, but not give online information. Ideally, once the faction redux hits, I'd like to see bounties with high standing at a certain faction's station not being reported at that station, or something like that. But that's for a future Suggestion, and, as I said, for after the redux.

Yes. I should be able to talk to Corvus station guards and find out where all members of TGFT and VPR are at any given time.

Well, autopilot, you're a moron. Why get yourself a bounty in the first place? Easy fix for that!
