This might have been done on purpose but just incase....

If you scan a ship that potentially will drop something nice (cores / guns) the scanner tells you whether or not it is going to drop. Ships that dont show the core wont drop one ships that do show it, do drop them. I shot over 20 collectors and they all tied up so doesnt seem to be luck.

Yeah, that was an accident of how the bots dropped their cores. It will change in the future so the cores won't show up in the scan.
