Hmmm - weird "cuts" in the background...
I've managed to reproduce this a couple of times, and what happens is that if i'm killed while in the menus (video options etc), i ofcause return to my homed station - but when i exit this station the background have... hmmm... 'Cuts' in it =/ Looks like the background texture is not big enough and it produces rather wide black lines formed as squares... ow and there are 2 of them...
Logging out and back in solves the problem, but i thought i'd better inform you...

I get this all the time under Linux. Are you using an NVidia card? Under linux?
Yes, it is - both... Gf2 (i think it's a MX200) and Linux (rh9)...
Yeah, it's probably some driver bug where it doesn't clear the zbuffer or something. *shrug*
lol - You guys really know how to put that hardware/drivers to a test ;)
I've always been sorry that i only could get a GForce card for this machine, then again - rather a GF2 than a TNT2 =D

With the newest NVidia drivers (4496), does anyone see this anymore?
Yeah I always see the cuts...On a powerbook g4 and on an iMac Flat-panel.
started at last update, hoping next update will fix this.

Same.... sometimes it looks like a long black line is running through the skybox, other times it looks like there are hundreds of little black obelisks in the background ala "2010 a space odyssey"
I'm running a g4 iMac flat-panel as well with an OpenGL graphics driver.

The new driver fixed what i original posted the thread on - being killing while menued...
Yeah, the Mac variant of this bug is a bit different. Not sure what the deal is there.
Get the same stuff when I switch from one X server (where my work stuff is open) to the other (where Vendetta runs). Gets fixed after jumping sectors. Didn't think it was a big issue, and don't think it's a Vendetta bug anyway. Graphics tend to go weird on my machine anyways from time to time, especialy when switching X-servers.
Heh. After some more testing it seems that the 4496 Linux drivers exhibit behavior similar to what previously happened under OS X. The "cuts" are now cut out in the shape of asteroids and stuff instead of the "Loading, please wait..." dialog box. Whee.
No longer see the cuts (since 3.3.0 update) on both my powerbook g4 and my iMac g4. Just thought I'd let you know
