I was running a couple of HS missions last night, seemed very sluggish. Later I opened errors.log to retrieve some info, and found the the line

CTextDraw warning: trying to display character 4294967273 ('�')

was repeated many thousands of times during the HS, but only during the HS and not at any other times.

I have no idea what that means or whether it was causing the slow performance, but I felt it was worth reporting it just in case.

Intel Imac , 10.6.

AFAIK those messages mean that the game is trying to write unprintable characters in the UI.

Are you sure that they only show up during HS? I have a series of those in my log from yesterday too but that wasn't during HS. I think I was just parked in a station at the time.

I've also had the game randomly print the name of a texture to the chat log the other day. Maybe there's some freaky memory corruption going on.

Hmm, no idea Mr S , but it doesn't seem to be happening now.
