Deneb J-11 Backdrop Disappears
The backdrop in Deneb J-11 disappears when you look at it directly and reappears if its on the outter edges of the HUD. I don't know if this issue was there before the Fog was added, but I'm guessing something is causing problems with the rendering distance calculations - although moving towards it has no effect.
EDIT: This is actually plaguing other sectors as well. J-6, K-6... the list goes on. Many sectors at the top-left of the center asteroid ring are also are suffering from the same problem.
EDIT: And I guess the bug isn't that the background is disappearing, but perhaps that its there at all? Was removing the background for the fogged sectors planned?

I'm confused. Either the backdrop is there or it isn't. How can you not look directly at the backdrop? If you're referring to the sun, then we're working that issue.
The backdrop is not supposed to be visible at all when in a foggy sector.
A screenshot is worth a thousand words.

Erm... yes... I was refering to the Sun, and I didn't see the stars so I didn't think of the stars, which was why I said "backdrop" and not specifically the Sun.
Anywhoo, screenshot next time I suppose.

For future reference, the sun and planets (and nebulae too, I believe) are rendered separately from the actual backdrop, which is just distant stars.
ladron, in certain settings. There are settings that bake the planets onto the skybox.
MythOpus, thanks that makes sense.

Ah okay, didn't realize that. Good to know.
OK, this problem is fixed and will be in the next update.
