Just wanted to know if anyone else was having lag in sectors with roids tonight. I've even made sure textures are down, and my ping was consistently <30. Was this a server issue? Several other people noticed this in game as well.

I'm not aware of any server issues. Nor does sector "lag" usually influence server-ping, the latter is on a completely separate machine. Sector "lag" is usually a given sector being overloaded and not doing collisions properly or whatever, but this should influence actual ping times. That's entirely a network thing.

Any point on the internet between you and us could have been experiencing an issue (equipment failure / over capacity at a peering point, that sort of thing) and caused what you were seeing. Although the presence of asteroids would not have influenced that.
