HUD glitch
Not sure how I caused/triggered this, but after plenty of "normal" playtime, this evening my HUD overlay suddenly shrunk in from the left and right sides (not, however, away from the top and/or bottom edge.) It feels like it looked somewhere "else" to figure the screen resolution. The "out in space" environment still exists full screen.
It's on OS-X 10.5.7 on a 3.06GHz Intel Core Duo with 4GB of memory, full screen on a 24" at 1920x1200.
I quit and restarted, no improvement. The HUD-like interface snaps to the edges when I'm in station(s) but then popped back in from the edges as I launch(ed) out again; repeatable at will.
I didn't try going to windowed mode and back to full screen, nor did I power-cycle the iMac.
It wasn't awful, far from unplayable, but darn odd. I'd say roughly the HUD shaved 10% off either side compared to the background, which looked entirely normal. Seems like the routines that draw the HUD overlay are getting their "width" parameter somewhere other than where the "full" screen is, fwiw.

did you try resizing the hud? I think it's default on F4 or F5.
There's a setting in interface options that sets hud to 4:3 aspect ratio even on wide screens, sounds like that got turned on.
Oh a resize the HUD switch? I will check into that tonight.
On the whole, since it only adjusted the width not the height I can well imagine that I pressed some key in a frenzy of dodging that caused this.
Thanks - I'll report back.

OK, F4 toggles the HUD on and off. That wasn't it.
F5 changes the scale of the HUD components, but not the relative positions.
Deep in the HUD settings, that "4:3" ratio area proved to be the key, though I cannot figure yet how I might have reset it.
(Very glad I called it a glitch, not a bug, since it was ME. ~LOL~)
Thanks, again. Maybe my tribulation will help somebody else.
