All the special ships appear to sport Blue's colors. I play Red. I have checked with a couple of others in the game and they say that the colors are correct from their perspective so this appears to be a client side problem with the wrong textures being applied, but only to the special ships, including the Promethious.

If you absolutely can't live with this, download vendetta again.

Which OS? If you're in windows, are you using the DirectX driver or the OpenGL driver?

I have a gfFX5200ultra in my machine with the latest nvidia drivers and it works fine for the Prometheus.

The problem has corrected itself. :-)

To clarify, When playing RED (I only play RED), all specials would appear to me to have the blue color scheme.

I stand corrected. The problem has mearly changed sides (so to speak). Now all the specials show as Red no mater what nation is flying them. Interesting... Yellow is next I guess.

The problem still persists. I am trying an uninstall/reinstall to see if this cures the problem. (Big download. Thank goodness for cable modems.)

Try using the directx drivers. If you can't, please tell me why not and maybe I can help to fix that.

Well, the reinstall didn't help but switching from OpenGL to DirectX drivers did the trick. Using the DX drivers, all ships are sporting the correct national colors so I guess there's a slight glitch with the OpenGL drivers.
