i have a sidewinder force feedback joy and while it works like a charm in most games it fails in this,it only works for 3 seconds then it fails to respond.Any movment made, say i was turning during the time it failed, will keep on going..only a rescan will bring it back..then only for 3 sec again...anybody know anything about this or have expirienced it?
tnx

Does this happen in other games? Is there a loose connection between the joystick and the computer? If the joystick loses connection even for a fraction of a second, it may automatically get disabled and you'd have to rescan to get it to work again. That's the only explaination I can come up with right now.

I'm running a MS Sidewinder force feedback stick under XP and have had no problems so I don't think it's an XP thing or an incompatability with Vendetta. I don't run the force feedback drivers though, choosing to use it as as a straight up joystick without the bells and whistles (or bumps and grinds if you will).

Kaifas, try looking at the dinput.log file to see if it has anything in it and if so, find the most recent ones (each error is timestamped) and post it here.

chacked cable and usb settings,i will try reg hack to deinstall it from registry to see if that helps.
The log:
cvs\gk\input\gdinput.cpp(533) : or Error (DIERR_READONLY): The specified property cannot be changed.

dosent tell me anything.
ill try the reg and report back if any success

hmm checked the usb stats(issues with this mb)they are deactivated and i removed the reg entries or the joy.Did a reboot and problem came back...hmm it might be the creative gameport+usb 2 that is causing this,as its not to cooporative when enabled(usb 2 that is)

hmm I have the same problem as kaifas
same error message too
but the funny thing is the last time I tried using the joystick was today, but there is no error message for today (7/22) but only for yesterday (7/21) when I wasn't even using the joystick.

But is the time quoted local time, GMT, or America time?

I use an old sidewinder 3D, no force feedback, win xp home edition.

The time should be your local time.
