Mid-Jump Jump

Feb 12, 2009 Death Jr. link
This is the first time I've encountered an issue with jumping, but anyway:

In Sedina, I'd plotted a course starting from Sedina B8 - A8 - G5 to be able to 'outjump' pirates when need be, which payed off. A pirate chased my defenceless racing ship, and I quickly went about jumping to A8. He followed me there, so I eagerly and rapidly pressed Enter over and over upon getting into A8, so as to allow immediate exit when possible (I'd started as soon as I saw my ship start the 'enter sector' sequence). However, I found that suddenly the display changed to me leaving the sector before even the HUD had been displayed, and I ended up never having actually entered the sector.

Somewhat odd, and extremely exploitable.

I've seen this sometimes, but I don;t see how it is actually exploitable. Why would you have 'never entered the sector' in the first place? As far as I can tell what causes this is that sometimes the powercell counter starts going before the HUD comes up, resulting in an unusually fast re-jump time.

But I'm probably totally wrong on this point...

It does happen to me occasionally too, but is somewhat rare and does not seem to depend on anything i do (beyond pressing activate before animation ends but just doing that doesn't guarantee it'll happen)
And you do enter the sector when this happens, but it's very short.

Alright, I suppose that makes sense.

Still... it's something that deserves to be fixed, I found the exact same thing happening today when I tried to see if it would occur again. It means that I now have an extra chance of zooming before my time, and... that's bad.
