Video/Graphics Resets

Dec 31, 2008 Surbius link
Every time I set Full Scene Glow Effect to "On" in-game and properly logoff, it resets back to "Off". I don't understand why but it just does that every single time. On a side note to this, Full Scene Glow Effect "High Quality" will not turn on while in-game unless switching from "Off" to "On". Meaning that I can't switch from "Off" to "High Quality" in one action.

Another problem (imo) is Video resetting the Graphics settings every time I change a setting within Video or simply press the "OK" button without changing anything. Such as switching from Antialiasing "Off" to Antialiasing "2", this in turn will reset Graphics to Space Junk Detail "High" and Distance Level of Detail "7".

Video settings are:
Visual Quality - Custom
Resolution - 1024x768 32bpp
Surround Gaming Mode - Unsupported
Window Mode - Full Screen
Antialiasing Mode - Off
Texture Resolution - High
Texture Depth - 32bit
VSync - Off
MipMap Filter - Trilinear
Texture Filtering - Anisotropic
Illumination maps - On
Environment maps - On
Bump maps - On
Multipass rendering - On
Gamma Correction - 9
Texture Compression - On
Shader Capability - Automatic
Renormalize Normalmaps at Loadtime - No
Reset FOV and HUD Size on Resolution Change (check)
DirectX 9 GKGL driver

Graphics are set to:
Background Detail - Highest
Effects Detail - High
Space Junk Detail - Off
Scene Level of Detail - 20
Distance Level of Detail - 10
Full Screen Glow Effect - High Quality
Preload All Resources on Startup - On

AMD Athlon64 3200+ 2.31ghz (754)
2.00GB DDR400 RAM (various case timings) 512+512+1024
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB AGP 8x
ASUS K8N

I'm using Windows XP with SP3.

Something similar happens to me consistently.

Clicking on the "Ok" button in the Video settings will change my Graphics settings to:

Background Detail - Highest
Effects Detail - High
Space Junk Detail - High

Doesn't happen if I Esc out of the Video settings though.

Mac OS X 10.5.6.

The 'Visual Quality' setting in the Video Options causes this. I'll see what's wrong with that, since it is supposed to change to 'Custom' when you change any of your settings. I think the game is thinking 'Custom' is a different valid setting instead of 'leave everything alone' setting.
