Wierd and insane roid bug!
There's at least two roids parts of which you can go into, one manages to fit you whole, while the other can only take a halfa bus.
The one with the bigger hiding spot (me and my clone were both completly in it at the same time) is the big roid in the middle of the screen as soon as you come out of the s7 station. The hiding spot is on the station side, at the top (from a station's perspective).
The second one, which can fit about a half-a-bus, is on the roid owned by [syn]n00b, Eldrad, invisible one, and hachiku. Thats the third one from the s7 station. It's small, and kinda to the left. The spot is rightt at the top.
For both of these spots, going at them head on doesn't work, you have to strafe into them.
/me goes to find more hiding spots...
P.S. can I be a guide? :D
[note: I submitted the exact same text as a bug report]

well, it seems that all the roids with rounded edges have a little thing you can drive your ship into, and the big ones you can fit completly inside...
Wierd ain't it?
Also, going headon does work for the larger spots. And deedo managed to ram my clone deep inside a roid (like, to the middle) while he was in a hiding spot.

Heh, well, it can't be perfect unfortunately. Those asteroids are dynamic meshes, meaning that the change their geometry based on their distance from you and your detail settings in the Graphics panel. The collision mesh is a different version of the object and they can't be exact but have to be as similar as possible.
okey-dokey then!
/me likes to hide in roids

I discovered this on a bored day in s2, then i went to s3 (with permission) and protected my little vulture, stupid territorial newbs =)
I liked it then, i was one of the handful of people that had bugged ships, instead of piloting blue's light, the centurion, i piloted reds light, the vulture. fun fun fun!
Then i got yelled at for protecting myself.

Another good roid bug, in sector 10 station I managed to hit 2000m/s. w00t!
lol, I know about that one, but havent been able to duplicate it with any consistancy :/
Steps:
Set home to sector 10. Undock in a vulture. Set to physics mode. Back up. Once you hit the back wall, hold the back up and strafe right keys. Done.
