Death/docking

I was docking as I died, or was atleast close to a dock and hitting activate. At the time there were a lot of lmines, and players fighting. The camera switched to 3rd person and spun around the place where I died. I've haven't had this happen in a long time and had thought it was fixed...

lag causes it.
happenes to me many times every week.
like that "buy back a ship" crashes 2 out of 3 times for me even after waiting for 2 seconds.
it has been brought up numerous times before but to no avail :(

not entirely... well yes it is... lag is always there, small or big.
You send the "activate" signal before the server or client (not sure) knows you're dead. Then the activate signal gets to the server but you're already dead so you're stuck.

The buyback bug can be prevented by waiting 2 seconds before hitting the buyback button. I know this isn't a fix, but it does keep it from happening in the meantime.

Keep in mind that sometimes small irritating bugs are indicators of a much bigger problem. Just because a bug isn't squashed immediately doesn't mean that it isn't a priority or won't be fixed. Patience.

New data:

Any time you die while in docking range of a station and you do not issue, you are stuck spinning in space. Lag or no lag.

Also, the buyback hasn't worked for me since 3.2. I have waited everything between 0 to 120 seconds with the same effects: it gets stuck on buying the ship

The stuck-in-space thing happened in a previous version if you were killed with lightning mines. The buyback has just been a problem non-stop.

Hmmm. It's all very strange since I try my hardest to make sure there's no latency issues when dealing with the station or dying. We're currently in the process of redesigning the server so I hope these problems will go away.
