Basically, I have to boost in space using /alias turbolock +turbo and /bind R turbolock, then release turbo lock by hitting tab, then go to the game menu by pressing Escape, and call up the Logoff menu by hitting 'l' (lowercase L). After that, the game freezes and crashes to desktop.

Running VO 1.8.35 under OS X 10.5.4 on a MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz.

I'll try to further narrow down conditions for crashing.

Are you using the TCS plugin?

Indeed I am.

The crashing is caused by TCS detaching and re-attaching the Logoff button to add its own button.
