I have complete the Corvus Sector Surveillance mission. It promised that a new mission would be available to me. I have no new missions at any Corvus stations, and no superlight availability. I have read other posts and think that maybe my UIT hate standing may be affecting this, but it makes no sense that my UIT standing should affect availability at a CORVUS station. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you cannot take the next mission in the tree unless you have high enough UIT standing (minimum of dislike, I think). It "makes no sense".. except that Corvus needs you to smuggle something through UIT space without attracting undue attention, so it is a necessity. I'll probably make another, optional UIT-hated mission at some point, but haven't had the time of late.

Another way of looking at it, is that your usefulness to any given faction is based on what you can do for them. If all you can do is hang out around their station, or take full-on assault missions, that kind of limits your potential. This is particularly the case with corvus, who is involved with a lot of clandestine work and smuggling. The player base tends to claim that corvus is the "pirate" faction, this is flatly not true and never has been. Pirates are useful to them as well, but only for specific tasks.

Thank you, I will work on getting that UIT dislike status. Another question of sorts: If I am UIT dislike, can I attack other UIT pilots and inflict damage? I was told I could not... Much thanks.

You will lose faction standing for doing that in any kind of Monitored or Guarded space.
