They cover navigating between sectors in a system, bouncing around, but doesn't cover moving between systems.

They also do not convey basic "get to know the universe" style things. Suggestion would be to make a basic "Move around and get a new weapon" mission, Perhaps a Green free Plasma gun from another system nearby your starting area.

Also, there is a blurb (Short note) about different stations showing different things. Having an introductory mission go over the basic of this would be nice.
