Not sure if this is how it's supposed to be or not, but when I fly into a station and look in ship->manage->select I think it is, it says "Not ship at this station" unless I had another ship there. It didn't used to do that, so I assumed it's a bug.

It could be that it's because the ship I have is selected, so the rest of the time it's a bug, forgive me if it it so.

I have Mac OS 10.4 with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor on an iMac (the generation that came with the Intel Core 2 Duo)

Hmm, yeah I just noticed that, too. Definitely a bug, but I am not sure how the bug was created. I fixed it for the next update, though. Thanks for the report.
