Weird space holes

Sep 01, 2007 Darkchronic link
Hello, after the nice, nice devs got the Jaguar support working, I logged in to VO on my state of the art 350MHZ G3 PowerMac, sporting 512MB RAM and a 64MB Radeon 7000, I set it to the medium 64MB settings and set off in space and saw big triangles cut out of the background, changing the settings doesn't help, also, playing without the background is one of the weirdest things ever.

Thanks.

Yeah, I saw that on our G3 350 with Rage128 video card. It is a bug with the OpenGL driver in OS 10.2.x Unfortunately, I have been unable to find a fix for it.

have you tried reverting to older opengl drivers?

How do you do that on a mac?

unfortunatley i'm not familiar enough with osx to say, however you might try going here and downloading what should be an older version (i think osX has openGL 3?) and attempt to install it. Not sure if OS X will let you do that though, Mac's tend to try and keep users from breaking things.

That stuff was for Mac OS 9, LNH. OpenGL drivers/libraries and the video card drivers are part of the OS. They only get updated through OS update releases, or the occasional machine-specific software update. Sounds more like the fix is newer drivers, which would require 10.3 or greater.
