3D Bugs Galore in 3.2.6
I am running Windows2000 with an nVidia gForce2 (64MB) for my graphics. As of 3.2.6 the game crashes on sector loading with the OpenGL reference drivers (crash report sent). With DirectX the game runs but has a crippling graphics error.
The nation stations in s3, s12, and s2 slow my framerate to a crawl (1fps or lower) whenever they are in view. My framerate is normal when looking away from the station in the same sector. Sometimes the station doesn't affect anything when I am looking at it from the hub side. No amount of fiddling with the eye candy options corrects this problem. The frontmost (away from hub) part of the station flashes pale blue when seen from close up. I don't know enough about 3D engines to know what's going on there.
Also, on the AI side, the s16 bots kill the frigate within minutes of its appearance by ramming it repeatedly. Some escorts
I've got pretty much the same exact problem. The diff is I've got windows 98 and a Radeon 7200 (64 MB). All the rest of the problems are identical to mine.

The Radeon 7200 has a big problem with rendering the radar. It's an ATI bug and I've submitted the bug to them a long time ago.
[EDIT] there's a thing to work around the radeon 7200 bug.
Edit your config.ini file and locate ps_hack=0
Change it to ps_hack=1 and the radar should work.
please tell me if that fixes anything.
As for Martinet, I think your opengl crashing is fixed, There's been other reports of certain sectors being really slow with gf1 and gf2 cards in windows directx. The only thing I can think of is that it's putting the index buffers into video memory and those cards can't read the index buffers from video memory. I need to test that theory out though.
Heh that's funny about the bots. Our AI is undergoing massive changes and there are a ton of bugs with them right now.
