Crazy bots..

All the bots seem to have gone crazy, they hit asteroids much more, and the bots in s16 keep making the frig die. (It is rather cool to see a bot ht the frig, blow up like a roket, and have this huge explosion follow it)

i have the oddest feeling the devs took me kazi bot idea.. and fu**ed it up. ;)

Yeah, uhh... 90% of the bots stay completely still. Sometimes even when they're attacked. They just stand completely still even when shot at. They don't attack until you kill one of those camping bots. Was the bot AI unfinished? Or was this the long awaited improvement?

The 150c bots are really easy now, though. I got 5 of them mad at my hog in sc4 and just let them encircle me. Then I killed them all with adv gat and gauss. :> I like them, the bots in sc13 should be changed to 100% 150c bots, since there's so few of them in the world.

Bots in s4 find themselves crashing into the station, doing nothing!

Maybe i'm a n00bie (I am), but the 150c bots are 10 times harder than the 75c ones. I can kill 10 basic bots in a row, but the 150c ones just evade better and it takes a couple of mins till I even deal with one (not to mention they usually fly in pairs).

A friend of mine was trying to trade at some section, I don't remember which, but he got followed by some 250c bots and said they are much harder than they were before.

The 250 bots are much harder, but as compensation the 350 bots are now MORONS!

The only thing I've noticed is 150 bots putting their heads together and being unable to figure a way around each other. They tend to cluster 'head down' in little huddles. However, when the AI actually isn't confused, I think the new bots are deadlier than the old bots. Problem is that they are confused even more often than they used to be.

You can sit in sector 18 and fire n00ks at the braindead bots...as long as you avoid the three that arent braindead...

Heh. This is some of the new bot code in action. But it isn't totally debugged yet, and I know for a fact some of the roadmaps they use are not ideal, or in the case of s16, not correct. If they're crashing into the station, then I may need to regenerate the one in s4.

I need to make some adjustments so that they watch where they're going better than they do now. I haven't even touched the combat portion of their behavior, and that just isn't going to be the best right now. That's probably why they're getting stuck. The other problem, as Celebrim mentioned, is when they happen to use the same "road" but on opposite directions and don't dodge one another properly.
