Ok, I;m really pissed off with this apparently *mission text lag* bug
Kill 30 prosus in <> 2 mins, and you lag like teh ninny! after!
Kill 60 prosus in <> 4 mins and you lag even when not hit...
The Debilitator fixes I guess might be making it worse, but after 30 mins of prosus splatting, I have to restart VO, I tried to kill them a bit slower, but I can't.

you could reduce the mission status update frequency in the mission comp. dunno if that will totally fix it but may reduce the effect a bit.
You are correct that that works, but the speed I kill them it don't work for long... I'm not saying I kill bots too fast, and I know its being worked on, and stuff, but this is like botting in slow motion sometimes.
[edit]
Just realised, I do most my botting these days in a group, maybe that makes a difference?

I'll have to revisit the optimizations I made to remedy this problem.
If you explain exactly what you're doing, then I can try to duplicate it here and try to fix it.
Like exactly what mission and whether you're in a group (and how many total in your group) or not and what sector you're doing the botting (and if all or some (and how many) of your group members are in the same sector), etc...
I've had problems in the past with people telling me what they're doing but leaving out details that are important. Like this problem. People have complained about a mission, so I try it and have no problems. It turns out they were in the group mission. Then I try it as a group. Still no problems. Then they say, 'oh yeah it only happens if there's more than 6 people in the group' or something like that. If they would have said all those things in the beginning, then I wouldn't have used up most of my time chasing down the wrong path.

Ok, I have noticed it happening during both Border Patrol (in groups of up-to 8, all present during the mission), and Advanced combat while grouped with one other person, who was both botting in the same sector as me for some time (Edras C-3), and also after some time, I was the only person botting in the group (still had the issue so I don't think botting in the same sector matters). I can kill bots really damn fast, cos as you know, they are pretty dumb, (IDF Valk 3 x Gauss mk2, dunno if you need to know that but...) and after splatting 30 to 40 bots, my client lags.
I know last time this was supposedley fixed (and at the time, it at least seemed to make the situation better), or at least optimised, but now it seems worse, not better, maybe something got *undone* in a more-recent update?

Cool, Thanks for the info. I'llbe looking into this and see if I can figure out exactly what's going on.
you know, cutting out the redundant <hudtext> BS from the update logs could very well cut the rate of lag in half if I'm not mistaken about it being related to the amount of mission updates you've recieved since client start. You get the same slowdowns after a lot of mining, border skirmish, or even BP.
