Since I started playing, I pinged steadilly in the 35-40 range, and I loved it. Combat was lag free. Now I've suddenly jumped up to a steady 135-145 range. I've pretty well determined it's not on my end, and I'm geographically pretty close (one state away).

What the heck is going on? I'm fighting and my hits don't register, or the other guys don't register against me, and it's very frustrating.

Ah, thanks for the reference. Do they often change their routing? Also, what is the server address/IP I need to run a trace route? (I suppose vendetta-online.com uses the same route? Same server colo?) I'd like to get a reference to know when it changes.

And, as Incarnate says in that thread, traceroute doesn't give you a super-accurate latency-over-time reading, it's just a one-shot.

I live in Milwaukee, use Time-Warner cable (earthlink), and apparently so does RedAnvil, since my pings are (usually) around 14 ms.

They've been as LOW as 7 ms regularly before, back before redAnvil had "problems" and probably switched a few things around.

Feel free to ask me my ping ingame, If even *I* have high ping, it's probably something to do with the server.

Trace/ping that. I'm not sure if it's their production server or something else but it traces to their office nonetheless (I think).
