Still rglow storm issues
My Win32 machine is dead, so I can't test there.
On this computer, an Ubuntu GNU/Linux 32bit system with a GeForce 7600GS card (1.0-9625), I have the following problems in Vendetta Online version 1.7.16:
- Wireframe is not rendered for hidden items in storms, even when they are inside extender range and outside visual range.
- Clipping plane is clearly visible, making the storm suddenly clip the asteroids rather than slowly fading them out.
- Visible clipping plane seems to be where wireframe clipping plane should be (when compared to non-rglow experimentation)
With rglow disabled it looks STUNNING! Awesome AWESOME work!
This is echoed to a bug report, but posting it here in case other users have comments/whatever about it.

So, devs? Fog hasn't worked properly on linux since it was introduced... Can we expect a fix any time soon, or are we to remain second-class citizens forever?
It's not a general Linux problem. It's an nvidia problem as far as I know. The exact same code is run in the opengl windows version and the mac version with no problems.
When I am able to reproduce the problem, I can fix it. I am still working on it, though.
Thanks for your patience.

Atleast now there's a clipping plane so it doesn't feel like I'm cheating :)
What's the problem with reproducing it? You don't have an nvidia card in a Linux box over there?

heh, oops, sorry. I keep getting that messed up.
I fixed the problem. It was a general linux problem.
The fix will be in tonight's patch.

Woo! Three cheers for raybondo! (if it works)
It's fixed.
Under certain circumstances the sun is visible now, tho...
I'll try and nail down exactly how to reproduce it :)
[edit]
I've been unable to reproduce it. Probably so rare it may never be seen again :)

The sun problem is something I've been tracking down for a while.
