Advanced mineral scanners seem to scan roids in a storm before the roids can be targeted. Fly with such a scanner through a storm and `target` the roids with `select next in front` or the like, and the roid is scanned without printing its mineral content on the hud. But when you have a prospecting mission, it already tells you if the roid has the mineral you are supposed to search for or not.

Seems like mineral scanners are not affected by storms.

Interesting. And on that note, I think scanners should have to be activated to actually scan things. As it is, all you do is target something and Bam! Scannination! If you can do that, what's the point to having a scan animation to begin with?
