ridiculous profits trading new items
in about 20 minutes i made 1 million credits.
i was trading some of the top-priced new commodities between sedina bottom-right station and sedina top-right station. in a moth.
something like profit of 30 to 60k per trip.
i quit at 1 million because it just seemed like an exploit at that point.
ok ..
ok actually i quit at 1.2 million.
but after that i stopped! really.
well you know i might go for one more trip. or maybe 2 or 3.
i mean, you know, it wouldnt hurt to have 5 million, maybe 10...
anyways... yeah forget all that.
its a bug! a bug!

ok
actually this is a little more severe than i thought.
--odia textiles from odia M14 to Tunguska (odia h6)
you can get over 2k profit per item, which is like 240,000 profit for a one way trip in a moth.
a bit unusual, causing money inflation? i dont know. its weird.

lol I was making about 400% to even 700% profit per trip in azek. they were dyes and something else that were costing 66c a cu and selling for 470c a cu and 360c a cu. It was great in system jumps and I could carry 120cu or them in a moth doing there and back trips. I made around 3 mill in 40mins.
My record trade route so far has been 440k profit every 4 minute round trip on a same sector new goods route. I ended up making about an 80 million profit on it.
The new goods routes are everywhere, and they recover much faster than the old goods.

I just hope a "red name" doesn't use the "R" word.
i consider it an exploit not a feature .... this is a huge devaluation of the currency of the game, and could mess up the economy .... unless everyone is 'in on it'...
of course what happens if they close down this 'feature'? do tumblemonster and friends get to keep their 150 million credits?
get some economist interns lol.

AFAIK new economy is just around the corner, so it does not need fixing as such, as work is already underway (nearing completion?) to replace it. As for tumble's millions, sure, 150mil is not that much by trading standards... He discovered the route by himself after all :-)
Why not the R-word? It could only extend to ridiculously high money values, and stash sizes larger than, say, 20 items of one kind per station.
Please note that I would be affected by this as well.

"R'ing" individual players could be way too labor intensive. I'm afraid that if the "R" word is invoked, it will be used on all of us.
It should be pointed out that Anevitt recently broke the 1-billion credit mark using OLD cargo items, not new ones. It'd be unfair to him to r**** everything after all of his hard work.
reset?
we are already in a reset caused by massive inflation. anyone with less than 100 million credits is basically now a pauper... my god its rampant capitalism, (ok so we dont actually have anything like capital or production or risk corporations in the game yet...)... still... class division on a thousand percent scale... except that somehow the socialist price controls on basic ships and weapons have made it possible for even paupers to live decently....

No no...
Just setting some frame parameters, and correct the ones that exceed the boundaries.
Shouldn't that be possible? Batch-converting players?

I also made a good portion of my money on old trade goods before the update.
