In June, my fps was a whopping 60+ with everything to maximum. Now I get 30 fps half the time, usually when i look at asteroids and stations. If this is something I am at fault for, please tell me, but this didn't happen before.

I'm also having problems. first the client is crashing every few minutes. i had a similar problem with the old client a few months back shortley before the current one was made the only one. second sounds are all messed up. i cant hear my weapons fireing, when they impact something nearby its distorted, and when incoming fire passes nearby it sounds like r2d2 on crack. also ships exploding sound kinda like a fork in a garbage disposal. also the unrats msg me "<insert pirate threat here>" or sometimes yell Arrrrrr from another sector. third when I go to load cargo on my ship if i have 10 neut2's it will show "1x neutron blaster mk II" for 10 lines perhaps either the 1x should be removed or it should work like any other cargo.

I think the <insert pirate threat here> is a bit of tongue and cheekiness on Momerath's part. The 1x Weapon is just a short term issue until the devs get weapons acting like cargo. The other stuff sounds like maybe you should try downloading the game again and doing a clean install.

Try the MTU discovery feature (set it to "Compatibility mode") if you are having problems connecting, or even if you are having problems after being connected for a few minutes. This makes the network code behave more like it used to.

ive erased the game me sound drivers and dx entirley and reinstalled them to no avail though i was able to track down the source of the crashing. an overheating sound card - something i had issue with before. perhaps its time to get a decent sound card something not using the cmi8738 chipset. ive heard that it tends not to work too well with win2k
