When I opened the game, the first thing to popped up was that window asking me if I would like to help by reporting bugs. I clicked yes then hit ok and it brought me to the character select screen and the big "Play" button on the bottom of the screen was missing. I also think that there is usually a summary or something of the character you have picked that was missing as well, but I'm not sure because I never really payed attention to that screen before pressing play.

This happened to me once. Just log out and log back in.
