Extreme Distances
Vendetta REALLY doesn't seem to like it when you go out really far (e.g. 1 Mm+)... I've got a bunch of screenies and a movie at http://pyro.starfreeze.com/vendetta/pics/deepspace.html. The movie's a little wobbly because I don't have a tripod, but the rest of the stuff (stars going away, etc.) is in the game... I took these pics and the movie between around 1 or 2 Mm and around 10 Mm. The last one (#35) shows me trying to log off twice, once with keyboard/mouse and once with keyboard/joystick. Both times, the logoff aborted in less than 1 second, and yet I wasn't moving.
I can't see the screenshots too clearly. I'm not exactly sure what's going on with the skybox texture. That doesn't look right. But I do know that after a certain distance there's some kind of "fog effect" where objects aren't rendered anymore. This is probably due to the skybox model following your ship and overflowing those models. I also noticed that in 16-bit mode you'll get a lot of choppy rendering of models at greater distances. For example you'll see through parts of an model cutting through other parts. It's very noticeable when you zoom in. This wouldn't be considered a bug though, since many other games have the same problem. You definitely got funky background texturing though.

I remember A1kon saying something about the server log being filled with errors from Pyro in sector 15.

Yeah I know, but... they look tiny and low quality. At least for me. You play at the lowest screen res? 1024x768 here.

Erm... Those are 1024x678... At 1/16 LOD... And high textures...
Do you have an orange monitor or do you play with red lights on in your room to simulate a spaceship cockpit? :)
