the fault is probably on my side but each time i try to open vo update facility it says i cant connect to guildsoftware server,

I have checked my router and its noit my firewall in explorer i can load the guildsoftware.com site if that makes a difference

if anyone could help i would be greatful i wanted to race tonight :- )

Can you ping update.guildsoftware.com?
If not, then try tracerouting to it to see where the connection breaks.

tried pinging and destination host is unreachable...
