That probably has to do with the shape of the levi. It puts the auto aim recticle in the middle of the curve, which is a big hole full of nothing. Hence, unless you apporach from a certain angle, missiles will detonate on the spot where the auto aim reticle is (also used as the levi's location point at 0m)and hit nothing. I'm guessing the NPC's are firing at this spot.

Question is, how do you fix it?

Is it possible to perhaps make each segment of the levi a different targetable object and still have the damage counted across all of them?

Or perhaps it would be better to just have each segment track it's own damage, allowing you to destroy it a section at a time...

Oooo, that could be kind of cool. The sections near the end could have less armor while the middle sections are heavily armored, but if you take out a middle section then the two ends start floating away from eachother.

Or... what if when you weren't able to kill the entire levi in a certain amount of time, it starts to respawn its sections!

The "midpoint" of the Leviathan (and all other ships) is an arbitrarily located feature of the object. We just have to re-export the Leviathan. It's on the list and will be gotten to soon.

Localized damage for capships (and maybe other ships) is also on the list(tm?), but quite a bit further down.

Couple things:

- tried several HS missions, and would only find a sector full of Xang Xi (no hive). Waiting several minutes, still no hive.

- Came into several sectors where the Xang Xi were faced off with a F-12 Observer, both absolutely still, as if the sector had gone to sleep, and they never woke up.

- NPC pirates count toward hive mission.

The XaXi NPC bots only fire at other bots (or players) who have fired on them. Since the observers don't shoot, they never kill eachother.

Whenever I've taken missions lately, I'll go into a sector (a couple were reported to have 60 bots in them) to find nothing but XaXi NPCs sitting around doing nothing... No hive to kill, means no way of completing the mission. Furthermore, if you kill 20 of them, you get 20 messages saying that if you kill one more, you're out... out of what? It must not work, since I was still in the mission. This isn't much fun, since the NPCs aren't very sociable

Queens just sit dead in the water, not shooting or moving, like big targets... they're no longer a danger or difficult to take out - you could buzz sedina and ge a queen badge in 20 minutes. You can even up behind them and shoot them from the inside if you're so bold...

In the levi sector, new queens warping in will move to the levi and attach themselves to the side of it like bombs (which is essentially what they are, since you can just shoot them and pop them there, damaging the levi)

A flaw in the model and collision mesh of the leviathan allows you to get inside it. Here's me shooting at Ghost from within the Levi, and Ghost shooting back, both of us only hitting the outside wall of the levi from our repsective sides

As of 1.6.4, all Hive Skirmish bugs that have been reported should be fixed. A few of the issues discussed in this thread aren't really bugs with the HS, and haven't been fixed, but *are* on our list. (ie the levi-centerpoint-in-space thing).

If you have *any* issues after the release (any minute now), especially problems with the mission not ending or there not being any Hive bots around, please report them.
