I usually go queen hunting in a Hog with gauss and jacks

I backrolled like a maniac as i allways do, but this time the queens stuck like glue to my hog, killed me off in 5 sek.

Reminded me when the sf did the same a couple of months ago.

Some try to get behind you. Which due to their size and low agility is pretty hard for them. :P

The best way kill them is to get some distance, turn around, fire a couple of shots and get some distance again.
or hammer them down with a rocket rag :>

they have allways tried to get behind me, thats not the problem, the problem is that the queens are sticking like glue to my ship, and thats not normal.

as for the rocket rags, i leave those to the newbs, as i use to to when i was new and went queen hunting.

Norse, it was originally introduced as a bug (in which all AI ships tried to fight you from 0m away) but some people expressed liking it enough that when it was fixed, some of that behavior was kept as a feature... so some odd percent of random bots will still exhibit it, while most operate normally.

I agree that it really, really sucks, especially in the case of queens, or certian elements of the queen's vanguard (having 2 Arklan Guardians trying to give your blasters a blowjob is not pretty... any hive bot with an AGT that does that is lethal)

It's especially nasty in vults, where the bots that try to ram you can end up wingbugging you.

queens are supposed to be hard to kill, if this MAKES them hard to solo, we don't need people whining about it.

oh, and PS. Gaudd/Jack is a dumb layout for queen killing...

try MP/NeutII (prom, hog), NeutII (vult, revc, IBG) or MP/Gem (Centaur)

I usually go either Dual MP Centaur or MP/Neut Prom II.

well i killed plenty of queens with my poor little hog, and its not like i could get in there start backroll and kill everything off.

It took quite abit of manuvering to prevent them to get behind me before i could start killing them off.

And i did die from time to time, my point is that it was challenging, fun and requiered some skill.

The way the queens act now, it like..

1. go in the with one of Cunjo`s ship fire off some shots, turbo like hell, repeat the prosess over and over again, Where is the challenge, fun and tactics in that?

2. go in with a MGC spawn the queen and its escort, jump out to R&R and do it over and over again until you killed everything.

Again where is the fun, challenge or tactics in THAT??

Norse, the queens that get in your face are uncommon - beside the norm. For the most part, you can just go in and outmaneuver/destroy the bots before taking on the queen, and if a queen goes kamakaze on you, just get the hell out and find a different queen to kill.

Make the queens eat some mines if it get too close :D
