When I tried to sell some ferric and carbonic ore on TGP-Headquarters i got this:

It wasn't much, so i didn't care 'bout not being able to sell, and i launched. After landing again, the ore was gone, and i didn't get any money nor trade licence. I don't care 'bout those, but i thought you might want to know this...

Hey thought I was seeing things. I probably lost some cargo that way too. Just got some warning in the chatarea though.

And the sell button didn't respond properly before it happened .. as if there was lag or something .

What was the warning?

something along the lines of can't update unknown object ... not sure its been a few days.

It was at 'bout 11:50 am today.

well, i've had the same kind of problem twice,under linux.
Ecka Estenk and NeonSamurai too, as they told me.

Today I went to mine some good stuff, went back to the station (odia J9) .
When I wanted to unload the ore (54 apicene), I had to click a few times before the transfer happens. The transfer seemed to be ok. I had no errors message, and my errors.log don't show anything.
I went out of the station, then back, but the cargo had vanished from the list of stocked goods.I checked, I didn't sell it by accident.

It happened yesterday too, with the 3 items remaining for a bulk trade mission, but i forgot details.

lukasn: according to the log, your ore didn't get sold at that time. There was nowhere in the log of that sector that said you sold it.

Jea, that's what i'm talking 'bout :) It DIDN'T get sold, it just disappeared. It dosn't matter with that ferric ore, but if something like that happens to a moth load of helio... :)

New client , mac OSX. 4.5, G5

Yep, This has happened to me on several occaisions, since DL the new client.
I enter the station and select ship > cargo . Select a cargo to transfer to store and press unload . There is then a short delay ( about 1 Second ) and the cargo is removed from the ship side list , then just vanishes .

I haven't had any error messages.

I have not experienced difficulties selling cargo , either as selling all or selecting and selling a specific cargo.

OK, when this happens, please state exactly what time (and specify whether the time is gmt or whatever) and what sector/station you were in at the time, along with what you were trying to do (unload or unload&sell or etc...).

Same problem as davejohn, detailed below:

Time: Fri 24th March, 13:35 GMT
Sector: Latos N-15, Remley Orbital

I had just finished a procurement mission to fetch 6 plasma cores, I had 4 left over in the cargo bay of my Atlas.

I went to the cargo screen, hit Unload All, waited... A long pause, then the plasma cores vanished. I checked the Sell Items screen, and the four cores where there. I checked the cargo screen again, still not appearing.

Thinking it was some sort of refresh bug, I left and reentered the station. Now the cores were neither present on the Cargo _or_ Sell Items screen. Gone. Splat.

Azek M14 , 17:56 GMT. . I tried to transfer 19 consumer robotics from storage to ship , the cargo just vanished .

I will try to log any further similar incidents.

Just a thought : I assume that the inventory is stored on the server , so is this a comms problem ? As if cargo is getting lost in a lag spike ?

inventory is completely handled server-side.
I'm thinking the client just isn't displaying the stuff, but you should still have them. Does logging out, restarting VO, and logging back in show the items back?
I added more debugging info in the logs for this next update to see if I can track the problem down.

davejohn: there's no station in Azek M14. But if you meant M-4 then it looks like the trade mission took your cargo. You got +61560 credits for it, though.

Ok, what I think is happening is that the mission is taking the cargo. The station doesn't properly update when you receive cargo from a mission or get cargo taken away by a mission.
Then when the mission finished and took the cargo and the station didn't update, you tried to sell the nonexistant cargo.

Anyways, it's a bug with the client not updating like it's supposed to. At least that's my theory.

Nope. Still gone.

The four plasma cores were bought on top of the six I bought for the mission. The six were taken correctly when I docked, the others shouldn't have been touched.

(Either that, or some profiteering TPG cargo-handler skimmed a few extra crates off the top. ;P )

I think it happened again.

27.3 23:00 gmt I brought 40 phase arreys from sedina d14 to odia c2.
14 were taken from me for the active mission.

about 45 mins later I wanted to use the rest but it was gone. :/

Some where inbetween the stuff seems to have disappeared. It doesn't say that I sold it anywhere in the log.
