joystick bug (fairly minor big big problem)
My joystick is very much overly complicated. One of the features would correspond to sw that is available on the pc, but not os x. this function is a mode selection slider, that allows for several different configurations. but ultimately its just a 3 buttons one of which is always presses. this prevents me from being able to enter keyboard/joystick binds. this is not a problem with the old gui. Thanks, the new gui looks great but love my joystick.
its a saitek x45 if that helps

Yes, the x45 looks impressive. I was thinking of getting one.

Let me know how this problem shakes out.

I discovered this problem a couple of weeks or so ago. The X52 looks even cooler, I think.
I'll have to do a manual check for these joysticks and have VO handle the mode select buttons differently. (or ignore them, I suppose)

another little thing, is that the bounds for the x and y axis are extremely tight, it is very hard to get the settings to work, though it appears to be dooable. basically i', fighting with pixles to get my stick calibrated, though this may be something i can fix on my end.
You're on a mac? ok. I was thinking you were using Windows.
Hmm. If I remember correctly, there's an auto-calibrate feature in the mac joystick settings in VO.
I don't have a mac at home, so I can't check, but when I get to the office, I'll check. If there's no auto-calibration, I'll have to add one.

yeah I'm one a those die hard mac users. I know that there is an awareness of the problem, but it has remained undressed at this point in the new beta, which is fine, I just hope there aren't plans to phase out the old client before it gets fixed. Thanks much and keep up the great work. I can't wait to get into the new client.
What I find weird is that if there were no problems with the production client why is there a problem with the new client. the joystick code hasn't been touched.
Basically what I need to do is to have the client ignore those "buttons" when you set up your key binds.
