10 minutes, then i'll see a thread about s15 from you, i give it 10 minutes.
Ping is fine for me!!

I actually had some crazy lag problems too. Sector 3 avg.ed something like 250-- extremely high for me. I go to 6... it jumps to 57630. This might be partly attributible to the campus network, but I've never had a problem like that before.
I completly take back what i said about ping
The ping hovers around 89 avg with cable modem
But! I get completly cut off while playing, how to tell you are cut off.
Bots act screwy
People act screwy
You can't talk
You can't hear people
You can't dock
You can't buy stuff if you are docked
You can't warp

It was very weird this morning... I was running (on cable modem) for about 15 minutes with no problems. Then suddenly the sound started repeating in an endless loop, I could not hear myself talk and I could not hear others. About 5 minutes later, the planets all shook and spun around on the screen really fast and all the chat that I had missed scrolled by. Weird.
I have had no problems with any lag at all. I personally think the whole game seems to run smoother now.
And I have never been disconnected either.
Very nice update.

Yep, no problems here. Lemme just cut-and-paste this into the Urza 3.2 Bitching Archive, quickly reaching mammoth proportions.
May i point you yo the general forum where he is now whining bout s15?
Well i just did =P

lol.. I a whined about 15? lol.. But seriusly, i've NEVER seen lag this bad. it was ok for quite a while, then i timed out...
Fine here. You know, ISPs have their ups and downs. The connection quality could drop just like that, and then come back up within a matter of weeks. What made you come to the conclusion that Vendetta was the problem?
A few nights ago my lag was fargin' rediculous, too. On a cable modem the ping was, like, 350 avg. It's usually 56 avg. I've almost never had a Ping problem before. Even on 3.2.1, but lately...
I've been averaging around 50-70 with DSL. Looks fine to me...
Where's all the people with the problems at? I'm in Massachusetts myself, where are you? Are we having geographical-related problems?
rogue: I'm in the deep south, so I don't think it is a regional issue. It definately is something that comes and goes and seems related to non-packet server activity. It's like the server decides to ignore you for 50 seconds or so, and then suddenly everything is back to normal. Otherwise, my ping has been very good < 180 average on a dialup.
And I'm the almost exact northwest corner of the country. So it's definetly not geographic.
This is extremely strange. The server isn't remotely even close to being overloaded. I did make one change to the network code between 3.2.1 and 3.2.2, and I thoroughly scrutinized it last night. It seems to work fine, but it doesn't buy much (it's just an optimization) so I can just change it back. I can't find any problem with it, but obviously a problem exists. It could still be a problem with the network to which the server is connected, which would affect everybody.
Also, please don't report the "max" ping. That's more of an indicator of loading times than actual network performance. It doesn't mean anything. Use "avg".

If it helps, there will be a bug report sent shortly.
I did notice that in two instances the game lagged up, so that I'd be botting in 12 for a minute or two, and then the bot would just fly away from me like it was running--i assumed it was new behavior or something, but then after chasing it--in once case the bot flew right through the station and an asteroid on it's mad dash to escape ;-) --I realised that something was wrong. I followed it out a bit into space past the s12 station, and then the whole thing kinda flew into super-fast motion, and i was suddenly out in the middle of space ~3000 from the station, and the shots that I had fired into space fifteen seconds before were shooting past me, all around...
It happened twice in about 30 mins of play on...I think it was Wed. afternoon, around 12:00-1:00 EST -- I know it was after i had gotten 3.2.2 though...Prior to that I've never had trouble with lag in any version of vendetta (nothing near that much at least--the most may be a 1/2 second jolt, or so...but this we a good minute or two!)

I do like the 3.2.2 version, but I also had this weird lag-problems... and I'm in BELGIUM, like the other side of the world...
I'm using cable-modem and my ping was always like 30-. With 3.2.2 the server indeed suddenly kinda ignores you for x seconds (hitting other targets doesn't do any damage ... probably because in real you are not there at all) and then puts you back to normal on a different place in the sector you wold think you'd be.
This is defenitly a problem devs... with this bug the game is about unplayable...

Since this is apparently an elusive bug, it would be helpful if folks would include the following info if they feel the need to chime in:
-Type of connection
-Type of computer
-Operating System
-Time of day
-Location within the game where the bug happened
-Time of day (including time zone)
-Remember to not avg ping instead of max
