Server Timing Out While Downloading

I've seen numerious posts in regards to many VO players who are experiencing the exact problem I am. I try to download new stuff offered on VO's servers (beta 7 for example) and it seems to cut out and stop downloading into the download. Now for me, it seems to happen close to halfway while I'm downloading. I've tried downloading Beta 7 seven times using different browsers each time. For instance, I tried downloading from both vo and the mirror site using Opera 8.57. Both immediatly stoped. I deleted the attempted downloaded rar and attempted again using IE 6. Again, the file stoped at around 70%.

I believe this may have something to do with the server contacting the ip of the comp during downloading. Maybe for some reason the server looses track of it. Since I can download other files from other sites even bigger then Beta 7's 127mb file, I assume that this is due to the server I'm downloading and not anything to do with my ISP. Like I said, others have also expienced the same problems. My ISP just in case u would like to know is Comcast, Located through Harrisburgh, Pa.

I know you guys are busy, but I find that this is an important thing to fix considering I had to find the link through vipers website to dl beta 7 successfully...FYI - This has happened with other files before and not just beta 7, so it leads me to belive that it is the server and not anything to do with relation to the file itself. Please post if your experiencing simular problems. Thanks

I posted this to the beta1 feedback thread. I do indeed have the same problem.

use a downloadmanager?

wget -c for example has no problems resuming the download.

Yeah, but it'st still a bother because it times out every 5-7MB. For a 130MB file that's a lot of resumes.
