dual joystick settings

Jan 09, 2006 nioubi link
I use two saitek cyborg evo for one week now.
One for pitch, roll, turn, and the second for strafe/speed.
This works pretty well and is very intuitive.

But, I need to reset the settings for the first one each time I log in.
I noticied they are named the same in the top tab of joysticks settings ( USB Saitek Cyborg Evo ), could this create confusion to the part of the client that saves the settings ?
My config.ini only contains the settings for one ( the one I don't need to reset )

I am on mandriva 2005.

Any idea ?

Thanks ^_^

Yeah, that sounds like its a problem with the sticks having identical names, i know some other people have used dual setups, and they have worked for them, heh, im not sure what the fix could be, but i guess vendetta could name them *USB Saitek Cyborg Evo 1* and *USB Saitek Cyborg Evo 2* if it detects more than one, other than that, it sounds like you are stuck with resetting the second stick.

thx for the quick answer !

Mhh, maybe I might change the name *before* VO, I mean changing the way the usb module detects and names the sticks.

I have the exact same setup and issue as nioubi. Anyone know if a solution was ever worked out? It's actually not so bad having to reset the pitch/roll settings each time, but resetting all the button combinations is a big pain.

I've been looking for a way to change the name/identification for the joysticks at the system level on my mac, but with no luck.

OK, I need to do on the mac what I did on Linux and Windows.
I should have done it before.

tomfoolry: can you send me a copy of your errors.log file? It prints out the info I need about your joysticks, like the name and serial numbers, etc...

Sure thing Ray. It'll have to wait until I go home after work. And just in case you guys haven't heard it yet today... Thanks for all the hard work. I really like the progress that's been made on the beta client.
