Hardware issue. NOT the fault of Vendetta.

Your keyboard can't handle more than two simultaneous keypresses.

Solution: Buy a better keyboard.

I can. This is not a Vendetta bug, but a hardware limitation on your end. The problem you are having is due to your keyboard only being able to communicate a few keypresses at once. This is a common problem with less-expensive keyboards.

That was pretty close to a "jynx". Good answers, both of you.

I've also found that when I strafe up and down using R and F with middle finger, so that my index finger is left free to operate C and V (my fire buttons) and then I suddenly want to switch to advancement, I place my ring finger on W and the middle finger on D, to throw off the autoaims, my pinky DOES reach the TAB button. Unfortunately, in the extended position needed to reach that far the pinky just doesn't have the strength required to consistently push the button down.

P'aps this is what plaguing poor ccc?

do you expect me to be a hardware geek ?

No, not at all, ccc38941.

But we expect you to think before posting a bug thread in which the culprit is not going to be the game itself. I'm sure you've had that problem with keypresses in other games--why should Vendetta out of all of them get the torch?

I can't think of any rational reason why the devs would place an artifical limit on the number of keys that could be pressed at once (on top of the limit already placed by the design of the keyboard the player is using) when it could be easily bypassed by binding several commands to one key with a single alias.

I know the subject of multiple keypresses has been brought up and discussed, and a general concensus was reached: If you need the ability to press more keys at once than you currently can, save up for a more high-end keyboard.

I'm not sure why this thread took a slightly hostile tone, but let us strive to keep things friendly.

I currently have simaler issues, (when I find my sticks aint givin me what i need i flip back to kb+mouse) I cannot use x to target nearest player, so I kinda asked myself, do I have to use x ? nope i decided, 'n i remapped my keys to friendy settings.

I now use c to target things when i have w+d keys held, it works!

also you may note that the w (foreward) key becomes useless as soon as you start to TAB (turbo)

With my keyboard I also have key limitations, usually a max of two keys, but there are certain cases I can have three down at once. (for example a+w+e works for me.)

But with w+d+TAB it wouldn't work anyway, even if you COULD use three keys because you can't do anything while turboing.

I have a dv6700 with Ubuntu 8.10, and for some reason VO can only register 2 buttons at once. I've confirmed that in the OS I can use at least 4, I've never had a method for testing more than that. This is kinda a big problem, as I use a keyboard-only setup.

Come to think of it though, I've been testing it with modifier keys, so it's possible those are treated differently... Anyway, if it's truly a hardware problem, I would love so good cheap keyboard recommends. Really cheap, as in like $10-$20, and I because I've grown up with Mac laptops, I can't stand 3D-ish keys with long key-presses, so flat and responsive would be great. Anyway, advice in either case would be extremely helpful...

Thanks,
