Very minor inconsistency with the bus
In the select ship screen it says that the EC-88 has 2 Small weapon ports, but in the Ship uhh, tab, of the stations, it only has 1 Small weapon port.
It would be good to have two ports on this little thing.
Thanks for the update, you guys rock.

Yeah. There are two tiny lasers (one one each side) on the bus model. Might be more appropriate to add two small ports for newbies to defend themselves with.
Ah. It's more like one port with two outlets, since it alternates left-right fire. Not sure how this was implemented. Ray or Waylon, care to elaborate?
Maybe we could make two full ports. *shrug*

I've found it only does the alternating thing for the free blaster. For all other guns, it's just firing from the right side.
Yeah, it's sort of a hack. It has an "alternating" style laser gun. There was no easy way to give it free weapon in both ports, and automatically have them grouped together. It would have seemed weird for newbies if they always just fired out the right side.
So I opted for the upgradability to be a bit weird instead, since I figured not many players would upgrade the free ship. Dunno. Maybe I'll just give it one port underneath. That would make aiming easier too.

I noticed that some of the guns (like the gatling gun) wobble around a little bit while firing, making it look sort of like a shotgun blast in the way it's spread out. I assume this was intentional (e.g. recoil)? It's actually kind of cool. Also, about the smoke coming out of the bots when hit by fire from the gatling gun: would it be possible to make that happen for all guns? Actually, if you gave the bus two of the government-issue guns, it may work well, since it would make botting easier for noobs (more chances to hit).
Actually just about all weapons now have some sort of hit effect. There's smoke, sparks, and flying debris of all different kinds. Experiment with them; shooting at rocks and stations does the same thing.
How about implementing some sort of "weapon slot attribute" system? For example, in this system each slot would have certain properties independent of the weapon placed in it. Heavier ships' turret slots would have 180 degrees (with varying degrees of vertical or horizontal flexibility, depending on the turret) of automatic tracking Bus slots would altrenate right and left, and certain medium fighters would have basic, say 45 degree arc of "spray" autotracking. This would make the weapon-grouping system even more useful than it is now.
