Unable to sell over 120u of merchandise
dun know if this is a bug or not, but I think it should be fixed!
if I have 600u of something saleable, I want to SELL it, not in 120 chunks, watching the value plummet like a stone...

Ya the value goes down if you leave the Cargo tab before you've sold everything.
I can't say it's a bug, but it IS damned annoying.

Calm down, FM. It's a feature. It's there to make it harder to tank prices.
Just sell what you need and make it easier for others to see the same price.

as far as i'm concerned the bug here is that the game applies the initial sell price to bulk sales. it should be possible to sell 600 units at once, but IMO it should be treated as 600 individual sales, each one with a price recalculated based on the demand after the prior sale.
Yea this pretty much killed trading when it was implemented. I remember my friend bringing thousands of widgets to a station and then selling it all at once to avoid the massive price drops. Once this was done trading got 10x's less profitable though and he left the game.
I hope that, with the new economy, the game treats the sales similarly to what Spellcast said, above.
If you were trying to sell Ion Cores, perhaps the station would already have enough Ion Cores, and offer you a nuisance price (like 1/10th the real value) to take them off your hands.
On the other hand, if pirates were disrupting Ion Core trade routes, perhaps stations would offer missions where the pay was CONSIDERABLY higher, like 10x normal value.
I assume that in the near future, trade will work as it should, following the laws of supply and demand, with prices ebbing and flowing across the galaxy, responsing to events.

well, how about the price per item that the station be calculated on the amount that you're willing to sell. A person selling up the station's demand will get that base price for the sale, but once the units start rising above that, the station doesn't offer as much (because you're causing them to overstock).
This "limit" to buying / selling things was brought about in response to combat a bug / exploit which would crash the sector.
