Wild polygons, maybe clipping issue?
Hi all,
I've noticed this several times, usually when leaving stations, but today it happened to roids and ships too. Basically, what you see in the screen dumps only happens when the object effected is on screen. The polygons move and change colour/shade, so I'm guessing its a clipping issue?

Jumping between sectors seems to fix the problem.
WinXP Pro, 2gb ram, ATI X600 XT 128 with latest drivers

Are you using DirectX 8.1 or 9? If you're using OpenGL, it's recommended to use DirectX, not OpenGL for VO under MS Windows.
Looks like bad ram to me. Had the same thing happen to me _lots_ just after release, someone said check your ram, I did, with this http://www.memtest86.com/ ,replaced it and not seen simaler since.
Memtest86+ http://www.memtest.org/ is often a better choice today. especially with modern chipsets.
But its sooo much easier if its a bug ;)
he-hey! I'm in that screenie! Bad spelling and all!
Yeah, I sgree with Beolach.
Switch the in-game video drivers between dx8.1 and dx9 and opengl to see which one works best.
I recommend dx9 but if that is broke, use opengl.
