Border Patrol

Ok I'm not sure if this is inteded or not.

When you are in a group and do border patrol, you must get 3 kills per person in the group until the mission is completed.

When you add people to your group while a BP mission is active it adds 3 more kills needed to complete the mission. When a person quits the guild the requirement stays the same.

Payout for the mission is determined by how many kills the mission needed. As the number of kills goes up, the credits payed PER kill goes up as well.

So players can quit a group and rejoin adding 3 more needed kills to finish the mission over and over(heck hundreds of times) and when you get into really high numbers of kills, you start making over the order of 10,000 credits(believably even higher for a dedicated group) per kill.

Just letting you know, again I have no idea if this is intended or not.

The credits per kill does not go up. The credits TOTAL does, directly proportional to the number of ships you must kill.

The way I see it, the BP mission would be better if it auto-renewed, the way the Advanced Combat mission does. I do not consider using the group/ungroup/regroup to increase the required kills to be an exploit: it does not increas the rewards, either XP or credits, it just saves time, because we can focus on the mission, rather than retaking the mission every 15 seconds.

Aye, plus, before this became well known, we just used to have a guy in the station retaking the mission repeatedly, same effect, same xp gains, same ammount of time.

Umm yes credits per kill does go up.

For a 1000 something kill mission each person in the group gets over 39 million credits.

It is 1 million credits with something around 130 kills.

I forget how much for only a 3 kill mission. Check it out and do the math.

Funny. For a 50 kill mission, I got about 500,000. For a 250 kill mission I got about 2,400,000.

Some got 38 mil for 1000.

EDIT: I just recently trashed my Serco standing, (I'm Serco) and I can't take the mission from Itani space... I HAVE to join an Itani group already doing BP to BP, can this get fixed?

That's not a bug, it's the same way for UIT. Personally, I don't think it should be changed, if you want to work for a nation's military, you have to work with that nation's military.

But I wouldn't object to having a way player characters could change their citizenship.

About it saving time, it can waste time too, especially as of late, as lag can nix the player whom started the mission, and make the 2/3 of 200 needed kills you just made worthless.

I'm 100% with Beolach though on the auto-renew thing... when I'm BPing alone, I run out of bots long before I run out of ammo, and that's just the tip of the iceberg... the irritation with restarting the mission gets to be a bit much...

Also player kills give you more xp and money than bot kills.
ALOT more.
This is the way it should be.
Auto-renew = thumbs up

OR, make the # of bots you want to kill an option.
25 bots
50 bots
75 bots
100 bots

Every player kill could be worth 5 bots, or just make the xp and money go up like it does now.
