Large Flare + Small Flare => both do damage (even outside range)

If you fire two flares and the larger one is triggered due to the larger proxy radius, both do damage, even if the smaller flare is out of range.

(Note: Its ok if the small flare is triggered by the explosion of the larger one, but it shouldn't do damage if its too far away.)

I'm pretty sure the splash damage radius is larger than the prox trigger radius.

And oddly enough it seems Geminis don't dish out the damage that they're supposed to. It seems a single pair of them only inflicts like half the damage that's listed, possibly due to a crappy prox trigger. I don't know, but from my experience it seems the effectiveness of these missiles have plummeted since the beta version. Either because ships have become more maneuverable or something broke along the way?

with gems, it's pretty simple. both have a tendancy to go off at the same time. one explosion takes the other one with it or something, but only one of the gems actually is in good damage range from its target. as distance from the missile / rocket helps determin the damage, this makes multi-shot weapons less effective. quite honestly, I don't mind much with gems, they do enough damage as they do today.

this is the same that happens with swarms, and is why queen-hunters suggest other missiles than swarms and gems, even though these have theoretically higher damage.

in most light fighters dodging gems is very easy, if you have sound on at least. :-)

Don't mean to threadjack or anything, but either way I think it would be nice to see the effectiveness of missiles go up. Better tracking, but smaller prox radius so they actually dish out the damage they're supposed to. As it is now they just suck. Really, they do. You need to go on a spamming spree to actually hit something with 'em. And when they do detonate, they just inflict half the damage because one sets off the other. Blah...

I don't know, it's just my opinion that missiles need more tweaking than rockets. At least rockets can still hit their mark most of the time and leave a substantial amount of damage. Wish I can say the same for half of the missiles in the game. They're worthless.
