Station Guards Ramming Themselves to Death
Just now, I noticed a pair of Station Guards stranded next to each other behind an undocking bay at Dau L-10. The one in front was damaged, so I docked, switched to a Warthog MkII armed with a Repair Module, undocked, approached, and was about to repair it when both ships suddenly left.
Since I already had my finger on the fire button before the ships left, I released it, and a Repair Module ammunition chased after the damaged ship, but did not hit it.
The targeted Station Guard ship then swerved, flew back, and, to my astonishment, rammed itself to death with a loud explosion on the station just behind me, leaving behind two crates of Scrap Metal. (I then collected the Scrap Metal and sold it at the station.)
Why did it ram itself to death? As a matter of fact, I had seen two other crates of Scrap Metal yesterday at Verasi I-5, too, and had wondered where they had come from. Now that I think of it, they may have come from a Station Guard there as well.
IMHO, Station Guard ships should not ram themselves to death.

I disagree. A station guard who can't dock is a serious candidate for hara-kiri.
I had seen several station guards who were "caught" on the corner of the docking bay, slowly bonking their noses against the corner. If you were looking at the docking bay as if to dock, they would have been stuck on the upper-left corner.
Next time I will take an image and post it.
I seem to remember the devs saying that, instead of getting stuck BEHIND asteroids now, the bots get stuck at the CORNERS of asteroids - perhaps this applies to the corners of stations as well.

I saw a guard stuck on a entry bay as well. Flying near it (<50m) got it free since my position was added to its navigation database. Good thing too, it was so damaged a single tap from me might have set it off.
If you look at the direction the guards are facing, you'll notice that they are headed for a docking bay and the station got in the way.
