This feature is known as the poor man's stealth. If you ever wanted a cloaking device in VO all you have to do is hug a large object and you blend in like a chameleon.

Yes, fix the stupid pathfinding has always been on the list of things to-do.

Just as long as the next release has more entertaining ways to gain combat xp. killing bots is annoying enough when you're crack botting.. I don't wanna think about how abnoxious it would be to do without that exploit.

It can actually be fun, i remember a time when i charged for botting other peoples levels up a bit (ie, i was botting for standing, so i created a /group, and charged those that were not as good to bot some levels for them)

Im sure they can confirm i usually bot in Initros k12 and can kill bots faster than botcracking.

What the hell are crackbotters supposed to do when bots are not so dumb anymore? crackbot all you like, i wont even bother getting free pk's - but tedious or not, botting is a skill, not an exploit.

Well, I just messed around with it.. It's actually pretty fun, but really hard. You end up chasing bots around through the cracks and holes in the asteroids. The best strategy seems to try to back them up so they're against a wall and can't maneuver around as much. You can still hide waaaaay back inside a crack and they can't reach you in there but they will shoot at you once they finally see you.

So yeah, they're slightly less dumb. We'll see how this goes.

yoda, I want to smoke whatever you're smoking. Killing bots is such a repetitive task that it became a chore I had to force myself to do. Crackbotting was a gift from the gods. I'm glad I don't have to go through that again.

Iopefully some new missions will come that give combat xp for more interesting activities.

And crackbotting isnt just as boring? OMG, i did try it... ... I found actually botting sometimes better... like me in Initros, theres a sector, tycorp only, no roids inrange, its just die bots, I actually used to have a nice (and at least its a lil RP) scheme going on where I botted for others, by them joining my group, this has been killed dead with the wide open knowledge of botcracks. Hey, it was a reason to use /group, what other do we have? and gave me a chance to show off to new players...

Im confused to your above statement a1k0n, do you mean the fix is already implimented? Because crackbotting is still very possible, and i know not all updates require a download...

One fix would just to be the normal *set* of bots attack you, this would make it much less of an exploit, and would make it so much harder for those looking for free player kills. Currently, when pressed against any object at 0m, the bots that should attack you think your in limbo, and then the next set target you, and so on. Does that statement make sense only to me?

It was faster, and actually slightly more satisfying than an endless strafe, kill, strafe, kill. Big booms!

I however agree that botting in itself is boring, but mostly becasue there isn't really an incentive to bot and because of the monotonousity of the action.

But im sure once there are some actualt reasons for botting like protecting a group of traders, exterminating a hivequeen annoying our traders, heck doing a raid on the itani because they are annoying us...

That is the stuff that I will expect to go along with botting and not this mindless heya pilot kill x, cool you did it now kill the same bots again. Wow again cool now do it once more again and you know what after it you can do it again and again and again... but it is prolly only me :(

Along with the new Hive, perhaps the longer a bot remains alive, the 'smarter' it becomes (and actually levels up)....
